#outandabout Built in 1839 by Major James Stephen Bulloch, one of the first settlers of Roswell, Ga., his daughter, Mittie, married Theodore Roosevelt, Sr., in the dining room in 1853. You may have heard of their son, Teddy Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States.

#outandabout Old Mill Park, situated along Vickery Creek in downtown Roswell, Ga., is home to the Civil War ruins of the former Roswell Manufacturing Company Mills. Built in 1839 and 1853, it produced textiles and was considered the largest mill in the area.

The mills produced the fabric used for the Confederate Army’s uniforms, and tried to protect themselves when the Union forces came marching through in 1864. However, once it was discovered what came from the mills, the Union soldiers burned it.
